Learn and Improve your French

Learn French in South Devon

" I have been going to Jacquie's classes for 4 years and have thoroughly enjoyed both the language course(Advanced French) and the Livre a Lire reading programme.

The classes are always interesting and challenging; we speak french as much as possible and use an excellent magazine for grammar, listening and pronounciation exercises.

I feel much more confident now in reading french as a result of the Livre a lire classes; Jacquie has a relaxed style which encourages participants to really enjoy the books she chooses for the programme. We usually find out about the author before we begin to read each book which never fails to give me a real insight into the story.

We've just started back for the autumn term and it's just like meeting up with a group of friends all of whom are as happy as me to begin our french lessons again!"

The reason I started going to Madame Barber Lafon’s French classes was because I wanted to understand and speak French with confidence. I had learned French at school but like many people, there was no real reason for me to keep it up. Now I visit France more frequently and I am able to enjoy the time spent there much more fully.

Most people attending a language class for the first time are shy of joining in the conversation but Jacquie’s professionalism means that she can spot people’s individual requirements and help them to progress comfortably.

Speaking for the whole group that I am with; we have very enjoyable time learning and it is Jacquie’s pleasant and lively personality that makes the classes a pleasure to attend.

Over the ten years that I have been going to French classes run by Jacquie my knowledge of the language and culture of France has steadily improved. As she is herself French and obviously loves France, we have learned more about the culture, current affairs and countryside. We are able to share what it is like to be French and can talk about it in French. This makes learning the language both pleasant and worthwhile.

Bonne Chance. Norman Bray
